Felt like Christmas today when a courier delivered two books, both of which have pieces I have written. “Open Your Eyes” & “Alphabet Soup”. I am delighted in particular to have a poem written about my father included. “My Fathers Hand” which I wrote a good few years ago. Dad would have been one hundred years old this year and would have gotten a great kick out of this day.
One book is a collection of poems selected by editor Kevin Watt.
The second is an anthology of poems selected in open competition by the International Poetry Fellowship.
Getting work published when you don’t have the resources to self publish is a big deal and even though I have a number of pieces coming out in various media this year, these two books represent the first of my work in print. I can finally say I am a published author 🙂
