The brutal truth

Truth lurks,
ugly, big and bad
it crouches, teeth bared,
hackles raised.
Sides grazed from confrontation
with reality and honesty,
the truth claims to be neither.

Opinion is not truth.
It is human not divine,
universal never local,
excluding religion
which is neither honest or true.

Truth is reality
but only in the glimmer
of passing moments.
Truth as it unwinds but lies
once spent or spoken.

The bang was truth
but the implosion thereafter, lies.
Laughter as they hypostasize,
in cries of dishonesty

The truth, is singular and violent,
gentle and calm.
Falling with the tears of lovers
and from the throats of youth
the brutal truth
