Giving in.

At sixty six you could kick back.
Relax man, retire to fuck you obscurity
on the comfort of a state pension.

Enough money paid weekly
to eat or to heat your home.
Never both.

On average you will have sacrificed
forty to forty five year of your life,
work and strife, good and bad,

given the bastards every thing
All that you had.
‘Till you are wasted,

Until you have tasted death
and smelt that stalker
breathing down you neck.

Then they reward you
with under two hundred
euros a week,

Enough to eat
or heat your home.
But never both.

Forty to forty five years
Of labour skilled or unskilled
So you can die in the cold. Alone.
