In every ditch and dike.
In lines and swathes and rows.
Pulsing energy drawn forth by time and light grows.
The fight to emerge,
to burst forth in growth.
Buds bleeding sap and swelling
Day by day. Petals furled like sails
encased in seed and shoot turn,
as waking roots probe warming earth.
The world is uncoiling.
Bursting loose as spring rubs hot loins to lust
and earthly wombs to life. Spring emerging.
