Behind Closed Doors

Behind closed doors
Block it out.
Smile calm and quiet,
keep it near and dear
them at arms length.

Between us. In this house
bury it in the walls and floors
behind closed doors

Whisper it to the trees
and to the silent wind.
Shout it dumb and numb
in fields of sleep
and slums of dreams
In choking screams.
Then breath

No unplugged here dear
No adlibs no fears
no miming players.
This is life this is real
be your best produced
and best directed self
But keep your demons
on the shelf.
