I believe in words

Words and Numbers.

I believe in words.
In the sharp
and the rounded
in the vows
and in the owls.
In the consonants
never constant indeed
but almost so
and well intentioned.
I trust in the merging
and the mixing
to form that
which I believe in.

Numbers I distrust,
they leave me numb
and cold,
they can not hold
a phrase
or finish
a sentence.
They often lie,
Never look you
In the eye
are often false
or negative
and formulae
all wrong
I die amongst that
unruly throng.

Words never lie,
they can not hide
there meaning,
it is written on their face
between the ink
and the white space.
I believe in words.
