The Clown

Darkness, then a single light blinks on harsh and strong, shining, shining, brightly down,
To light the lonely figure seated there, a fool a jester a painted clown.
He turns to reveal a stark painted frown, garishly lit in harshest monochrome,
Then steps into the silver light, a painted fool in black and white,
Startling blue eyes that seek another soul, to wear the paint and play the role
To wear the suit the shoes and the blood red frown
to become like him, another wretched clown
