Jenny Pride

I couldn’t live with
My darling Jenny Pride
She drove me away
No longer my bride

I divorced her today
In the stone court room
I couldn’t live with
A saint in my home.

Jenny saw so clearly
Her own grand schemes.
But not a whit cared
For another mans dreams.

She saw in herself
charm and grace
But saw clearly flaws
In anothers face

She paid heed to
Her own homely advice
But of others heard
neither words or voice

She’s away now and
Gone from my door
I am single again
And happy once more.
