There is an anger deep ingrained
A reflected burning rage contained
In the creature deep beneath my skin
A battle fought to keep it in
In the careless mirror I see his glare
In dread reflection madness stare
From my own eyes hard and forbidden
The monster rises up unbidden.
And in my unguarded mind alone
His thoughts emerge as my own
And anger takes me in its grip
Claws and jaw that rend and rip.
He sends me stumbling away
Reeling from the horror that I see
In search of peaceful calming balm
Away from myself an angry man.
