Summer Swallows

Summer Swallows

Summer sirens sitting tall
Perched along the harbour wall
Sun warming gold tanned limbs
Gloriously erotic sunbathing nymphs.

With hoots and call to scare a boy
Older men laugh as I rush by
Head held low and shoulders high
Summer swallows hear their taunting cry

Exotic summer migrant lives
From town and cities they arrive
And grace our place with tone and shade
The young and slim in grand parade

They swarm upon our coastal retreat
Bring colour to the summer heat
And lust to young men’s summer days
Regarding him with knowing gaze

And on the dunes and grassy banks
Men young and old give their thanks
From cliff top and secluded sandy hollows
They sing praise to the glory of those summer swallows.
