Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

Eve stumbles
Beside the church
Of H and Coke
Where Johnny
Had stepped out
For a smoke.

Eve stood
Shaken but unpreturbed
Then pain tore
Johnny stepped
Into the shadows.
Not my problem he swore

She fell then
Outside the temple
Of vice and sin
She cried out in pain
But they didnt
Take her in

Blood poured
As she dragged herself
To a cold stone door
On a mean city street
Where no one
Cares anymore

On the door slick
Had drawn a donkey
And three wise men
Where Eve sees a star
Her child is
Born
