If I Could
If I could wrap you up in tiger down
And keep you always safe from livings strife
If I could buffer you in bubble beads of love
You would be saved then from living life
If I could take away all your troubles
And never give you cause to care or fret
So you would live cocooned from grief forever
With never need of drawing livings breath.
But I love you far to much for that
You are my hearts dream of a living child
So I will stand in mortal fear and awe
And leave you darling living free and wild.
And guide you only with the softest hand
To turn you if I could from harm to good
I’d hunt down your cares to soften every blow
And comfort you from harsh tears if I could.
