Life Choices

To be a King in your own domain

Or travel as a serf in other lands

To stand tall and claim what is yours

Or bow to all and wander unencumbered

To choose to serve all that you love

Or embrace the chaos of unfettered life

To stake a claim and work it all your day

Or take unbound freedom as your lot

Choices are the cages that we build

Our plans for flight and solitary life

Choices imprison us or sets us free

Decisions become shackles

Or the key to roads unwalked

For what we love will hold us ever back

While great unknown will be a siren song

And we who choose to stand and be

Will ever kill the wanderer within.
