Kick it in down the road

Good luck to all those working in Paris in an effort to stop us from killing our planet. You would think we would all support that goal. You would think?

Lets kick it on down the road he said.
Tempratures rise and the bears are dead
Well be said thats sad for the bears.

Forests are felled in the name of greed
But without the trees how will we breath
Lets kick it on down the road he said

Lets kick it on down the road he said
As industrial waste poison the air
And no body seems to worry or care

Children die from famine and drought
The reasons are clear there is no doubt
Lets kick it on down the road he said

Lets kick it on down the road he said
Resources stripped and land depleted
Broken promises often repeated.

And so they kicked it on
From Gerry To Jimmy and Ron.
Down the road, they kicked it on

To George and Bill and back again
Claimed the problem would remain
So lets kick it on down the road

The air grew thin and the sun grew harsh
Our Eden became mire and marsh
Lets kick it on down the road he said

No they said. Lets kick it no more
Its time to cash out and settle the score
Damage is done. Earth drilled to its core.

At last he listened. He could no longer speak.
Air is noxious and the earths grown weak.
Where are we now he finally said.
We”re at the end of the road.
The earth is dead

You cant kick it on down the road.
