Full Moon

Pulled by sixty silver horses
She rises languidly
Now full and golden ripe
As she glides above the sea

Selene, on her chariot
Full and fair her seat
Her horses gallop to the west
And trample night beneath their feet

Endymion, on mount Latmus
Throws kisses to his love
And praises her from his kingdom
As she in turn, adores him from above

Down below her silver skirts
The world sleeps, as she softly burns
Men await the daylight hour
And her brother, Helios return

And on she rides now, til’ dawn
Her horses running sure and fast
This is her moment, now to shine
Until she waxes and returns, full again at last.
